Strata-G is seeking an experienced WORK PLANNING AND CONTROL SPECIALIST with the following:

Summary:

The focus of this position is to develop a data mining process so that hazards can be identified and linked to the appropriate hazard mitigating control(s). There are tens of thousands of these instances that need to be identified, evaluated, and implemented into the tool. The project execution could have a few different approaches, so a variety of academic disciplines are being considered. The initial focus will be related to explosives safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular interaction with peers and management who are well connected at the laboratory, to positively grow your networking portfolio.
Regular interaction with the highest levels of management.
Routine presentation of progress/status and results to senior management.
Continually grow your understanding of how disciplined operations and conduct of operations are developed and implemented at an institutional level.
Considered a “Desk” Job – Can support from remote with site visits.
On-site 1x per week/1-week per month for field walkdowns.
Attends meetings via WebEx as required.

What You Need (Minimum Requirements):
Skills and Abilities:

Basic understanding of Hazards, Requirements and Controls and how they flow down to Work Planning and Execution.
Possess a combination of strong leadership skills, in managing all aspects of work planning and control.
Experience working in a team environment with a strong safety culture.
Able to team with others, engage in peer reviews, interact with Subject Matter Experts (SME) and on-the-floor personnel.
Detailed focused/oriented but understands the bigger picture.
Can roll-up their sleeves and is able to provide results in a matter of months, and shows value and is impactful.
100% committed and fully engaged.
First impressions matter.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

    Education and Experience:
    The most applicable educational backgrounds include Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, and Computer Programming.
    A degree is not required.
    Any background in data mining, management, and manipulation is applicable.
    Has knowledge of LANL Policies and Procedures.
    Understands the LANL (NNSA Laboratory) Culture.
    Understands purpose and value of Lessons Learned.
    High level and mature resource, mid to late career.
    Has field/floor level experience.

    Special Requirements:

    Ability to pass U.S. Government employment background check and acquire U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card.
    Q-clearance not required.
    The candidate must be able to be escorted by a DOE Q-cleared escort and work at a DOE facility.
