Summary:

As a Cognizant System Engineer/Technical Authority for assigned systems, coordinates configuration management activities, assesses system health and performance, and provides overall technical responsibility for plant system operability and maintenance activities. Works in conjunction with the Configuration Management program for the assigned system(s). Prepares configuration control/design change packages for tasks; evaluates the impact of proposed changes and/or modifications to approved safety authorization bases for facilities; and performs troubleshooting and improvement activities. Applies the systems and equipment expertise needed to resolve technical system and equipment issues in cooperation with other related disciplines.

[All electrical engineers will apply technical expertise and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the Electrical Engineering field- with power or instrumentation focus. The electrical engineer will provide self-performed technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems through the application of established engineering practices, codes, and standards. Field troubleshooting support of existing systems will be required. Electrical engineer will be responsible for reviewing conduit/cables schedules, conduit/equipment plans, one-line diagrams, wiring/connection/schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, various sections/elevations/details, calculations, datasheets, and construction specifications.]

[Power electrical engineers will primarily focus on standard industrial systems at the medium voltage (15 kV class) and low voltage (< 600 V) levels. System modeling is performed using ETAP nuclear grade software. Design packages will be reviewed to ensure they convey the technical requirements for the installation and/or modification of outside site distribution infrastructure and facility power distribution equipment such as substations, transformers, power switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), generators, UPSs, and general building electrical systems. The Electrical Engineering group in Facility Engineering manages renewable energy in the form of an 11.5MW wind farm.]

[Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) electrical engineers will primarily focus on review wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, cabinet assembly drawings, system diagrams, and control logic for both batch and continuous processes using conventional analog instrumentation, distributed digital control systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).]

Network Electrical Engineer will act as system administrator for new Radiation Alarm Monitoring System network and is required to be proficient with SQL databases, XHTML/HTML coding, and Viewpoint software experience is desired but not required. Allen Bradley PLC programming experience desired and I&C background would be beneficial.

The Electrical Contractor Authority Having Jurisdiction (ECAHJ) Electrical Engineer will primarily focus n and is responsible for interpreting the National Electrical Code NFPA-70 as well as approving electrical equipment when a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) is not able to list the product in question. THE ECAHJ is on the Plant Electrical Safety Committee and is involved with electrical safe work practices and maintenance as mandated from 10 CFR 851, OSHA Subpart S Electrical, NFPA-70, NFPA-70E and NFPA-70B. . Maintains current knowledge of codes and regulations to assure compliance.

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Facility Lightning Protection Electrical Engineer will primarily focus on and is responsible for interpreting the code (NFPA-780) and reviewing and approving installations and repairs. The Lightning Protection System (LPS) SME maintains knowledge of code and regulations to assure compliance.

Requirements:

BSEE with minimum 9 years experience

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a 'DOE Q' clearance.
