Strata-G is seeking an experienced Electronics Technologist with the following:


The Electronics Technologist is an integral member of the Measurement and Explosive Science team. We are responsible for collecting and analyzing instrumentation data products that are delivered to ND customers for tests carried out at test locations including sled tracks, aerial cable, Superfuge, mechanical shock, and drop towers. We specialize in instrumentation and data collection for testing that ranges from small to large scale. Our assets include miniature, on board data acquisition systems and large, blast hardened mobile instrumentation trailers. We maintain explosive operations expertise to implement explosives in tests, ranging from small components such as explosive cable cutters for test object release to rocket motors to propel test objects on sled tracks. We develop and maintain high reliability firing systems to initiate the explosives, ensuring both safety and performance.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Support test activities at both indoor and outdoor facilities.
  • Fabricate instrumentation electronic components for use in testing.
  • Support design trade studies at a bench scale level in the electronics lab.
  • Procure instrumentation and supporting equipment.
  • Manage calibration for instrumentation and supporting equipment.


  • Associate of Science in Electronics Technology or
  • Associate of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology or
  • Associates of Applied Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician or
  • 5 years’ directly related experience with:
    • Applied Electronics
    • Circuit Design or Analysis
    • Electronics Diagnostics, Troubleshooting, or Repair)s,
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

Preferred Special Requirements:

  • Knowledge of different sensing technologies (accelerometers, load cells, strain gauges, etc.)
  • Experience in maintaining laboratory facilities, hardware, and documentation, including calibration of controlled equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience with cable management with respect to robustness and survivability Experience with electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, or other diagnostics equipment Experience building small custom connectors
  • Ability and willingness to work in remote locations and field test environments Experience with electrical troubleshooting in a lab or field test scenario
